Kate is a narcissist. That is the genesis of all her issues. It's part of her need for complete control and entitlement to belittle, emasculate, and publicly smear Jon before and after they divorced. It's really important for everyone to educate themselves on the signs and red flags...if you're educated, you can see the signs early and you can possibly avoid being in a situation like Jon was in. I was raised by a narcissist father and went on to date a narcissist as an adult. I didn't understand what Narcissistic Personality Disorder was until I was desperate to leave my ex and figure out what was going on. I feel alot of deep empathy for Jon and the Gosselin kids...especially sweet Collin. All those kids are in need of therapy and counseling and might need it the rest of their lives.

I think it's wonderful that despite Collin slandering his dad to the media for a bit, Jon didn't hold it against him and still continued to get him the help that he so desperately needed. Kids who have been abused will often self sabotage and act out in ways that they're sure will get their "new" parent to abandon them. Foster and adopted kids will often do this. Kids like Collin need to be accepted and loved after these periods of self sabotage, and that's what Jon did. I'm proud of Jon.
